MACeramiste
Kinsale, Cork

My name is Marie-Andrée Roberge. I leave in Kinsale, a lovely Irish town on the Wild Atlanctic Way in County Cork. I learned ceramic making in a great craft school called La Maison des Métiers d'Art de Québec, in Canada. When I graduated I created my brand, MA Céramiste, and am now a designer and producer of functional ceramics. It took me 5 years of traveling, searching and experience through art residencies and masterclasses to specialise my craft work in two categories silkscreen printed crockery and home decor collectibles. The crockery collection is ultra functional, with pieces made from microwave and dishwasher proof porcelain. I silkscreen print the pattern on Irish porcelain slab and hand build the piece by folding the slab into the desired shape. The Home Decor Collection is a limited production of porcelain pieces inspired by different objects I found and loved for their beauty and symbolism. My work has always featured something about travelling and souvenirs and I like the idea of sharing a bit of my story with those who own or look at my creations.
