FAQ

Q: What are the Etsy Awards?

A: The Etsy Awards celebrate the best of Canadian creativity. Eligible Canadians will be recognised for their work across five categories: Art & Illustration and Paper Goods, Home & Living, Fashion & Accessories, Kids & Baby and New Talent. Contenders for the major prize, the Community’s Choice Award, will be selected from the 60 finalists across the other award categories. The 60 finalists and 5 category winners will be decided by the Canadian Judging Panel. The Community Choice winner will be decided by public vote.

The 2016 Etsy Awards Canada judges are:
Erin Green, Managing Director Etsy Canada
Jillian Harris, Television Personality and Design Expert
Jan Halverson and Earl Einerson, PoppyTalk
Joyce Lo, Drake General Store

Every Award except the Community’s Choice Award will be evaluated and decided by the judges. The Community’s Choice Award will be decided by a public vote.

Q: Who can enter the Etsy Awards?
A: The Awards are open to Canadian-based Etsy sellers with active Etsy shops. Unfortunately, this contest is not open to residents of Quebec.

Q: Can I enter in more than one category?
A: Yes, you are welcome to enter multiple categories, as long as your items fulfill the criteria for each Award you enter. Make sure you fill in the entry form for each Award separately.

Q: Can I enter a one-of-a-kind item?
A: Yes, one-of-a-kind items are eligible for submission.

Q: Can I enter the same category more than once?
A: Entrants may only enter once per category.

Q: What happens if my item sells during the Awards?
A: If your items sells during the Awards period, congratulations! Your submission will still be valid. If you have multiple quantities of the item, we suggest that you continue to replenish any sold listings submitted until the winners are announced.

Q: What if I miss the deadline for submissions?
A: To be fair to all applicants, we cannot accept entries after the submission deadline. This is in compliance with the Terms and Conditions.

Q: Why can’t residents of Quebec apply for the Etsy Awards?
A: Unfortunately this contest is not open to residents of Quebec due to provincial laws that regulate contest entry rules. We are not able to accommodate those regulations and therefore are required to exclude Quebec residents from participating.

Q: How will I find out if I am a finalist?
A: Etsy will notify all finalists directly through the email address provided with their entry. We will also post all the finalists on etsyawards.com/ca by 12 p.m. on May 23, 2016. Good luck!

Q: How will I find out if I am a winner?
A: Etsy will notify all winners directly through the email address provided with their entry. We will also notify the public of all the winners on etsyawards.com/ca no later than June 20, 2016.

Q:I’m having trouble submitting through etsyawards.com/ca. What do I do?
A: Please submit the question to your problem to etsyawardsca@etsy.com and we can help you out!

Q: Can I vote for more than one person for the Community’s Choice Award?
A: No, you can only vote for one finalist for the Community’s Choice Award.

Q: Can I vote for the Community’s Choice Award if I don’t live in Canada?
A: Yes! However, you can only vote for one finalist for the Community’s Choice Award.
